My Body is My Body – Song 1
Today, we’re going to talk about something very special – our bodies! Each of us has a body that is unique and wonderful in its own way. It’s the only one we’ve got, so it’s really important to take good care of it.
Our bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and some of us might have different abilities or different ways our bodies look and work. The most important thing is knowing that your body is special. Sometimes, we might need help taking care of our bodies, especially parts we can’t easily reach or see. It’s okay to need help, whether it’s with washing, putting on medicine if you are sick or sore or when we visit the doctor. But remember, this help should always make you feel safe and comfortable. If you’re feel uncomfortable it’s really important to talk about it with someone you trust.
Cynthie’s Video Introduction:
Here’s a fun activity: Let’s think about all the different parts of our body. Some of us have hair, eyes, a nose, a mouth, maybe arms or legs or hands or feet. And all of us have parts of our body that are private. Do you know where the private parts of your body are? These are the parts of your body covered by underpants or a swimsuit.
Your body is your own, and it’s meant to be treated with kindness and care. No one has the right to hurt you in any way—no hitting, no kicking, no causing pain. If someone does something that hurts you or makes you feel uncomfortable, it’s very important to tell a trusted adult. You deserve to feel safe and loved all the time. (We will talk about trusted adults in Song 4).
My Space: Understanding Personal Boundaries
Everyone likes to feel safe and comfortable with their friends and family. Sometimes, we show love and care through hugs, tickles, and kisses. But it’s also important to know that it’s okay to have your own personal space. This quiz will help you think about what makes you feel comfortable and how to express your feelings in a kind and respectful way.
