MBIMB Quick Start Guide

MBIMB Quick Start Guide

Welcome to My Body Is My Body — your simple step-by-step guide to starting the programme in your school, organisation, or community.

How to Start the Programme

The My Body Is My Body Programme is free to use and designed to help children learn about body safety, confidence, trusted adults, and speaking up through music, animation, discussion, and activities.

1️⃣ Step 1 – Register

Go to www.mbimb.org and click “Sign In.” If you do not already have an account, you can register there.

Fill in your name, organisation, and email address to receive free access to MBIMB resources and courses.

2️⃣ Step 2 – Take the Free Presenter Courses

If you are planning to present the MBIMB Programme, go to our Free Courses section and complete:

  • Course 1: Introduction to Child Maltreatment and Safeguarding Children
  • Course 2: How to Teach the My Body Is My Body Programme

These courses explain why the programme exists and how to deliver it effectively.

For additional safeguarding knowledge, you can also access our full Safeguarding Fundamentals course and other helpful courses if you work with children.

3️⃣ Step 3 – Download Materials

Once you are registered, you can access useful materials to help you plan and deliver your sessions.

  • Lesson Plans: Age-appropriate modules on body safety, bullying, peer pressure, and digital safety.
  • Workbooks & Flyers: Printable materials for children, parents, and staff.
  • Videos: Short animated songs that reinforce key messages. These can also be accessed through YouTube.

4️⃣ Step 4 – Plan Your Sessions

  • Choose a time slot in your school, group, or community setting.
  • Each module takes around 15–20 minutes and can be delivered individually or as a series.
  • Decide who will deliver each module, such as a teacher, staff member, community leader, or trained volunteer.

5️⃣ Step 5 – Involve Parents

Parent involvement helps children continue the conversation at home.

  • Send flyers or emails home explaining what the children are learning.
  • Invite parents to an information session where possible.
  • Encourage families to talk about body safety, trusted adults, and “Say no to secrets — only surprises.”

6️⃣ Step 6 – Deliver the Programme

  • Play the videos or songs for the children.
  • Use the lesson plans to guide discussions and activities.
  • Keep the sessions positive, gentle, and age-appropriate.
  • Give handouts for children to take home if you have them available.

7️⃣ Step 7 – Give Feedback & Share Your Success

We would love to hear from you.

Send questions, feedback, photos with permission, or success stories to:
chrissy@mbimb.org

We may feature your school, organisation, or community group in our newsletter to celebrate your great work.
